Instagram Fashion Index: focus Shoes & Accessories

Following the success of the Instagram Fashion Index, dedicated to the Milan Fashion Week 2016, Blogmeter launched a periodical observatory: every two months the performance of global fashion accounts on Instagram will be revealed. The analysis will be made from an evolving database of over 300 global fashion brands, measuring engagement, followers, best performing content and most engaging influencers.
Each edition of the Instagram Fashion Index will focus on a particular sector of the fashion world. This edition analyzes the performance of about 40 brands belonging to the world of shoes and accessories, during the first four months of 2016.

The account that triumphs in this first edition of the Instagram Fashion Index dedicated to Shoes & Accessories is Michael Kors. In the period of analysis collected it over 19M of interactions and registered 7,7M followers. The account has been particularly active, publishing nearly 350 posts, among which the most engaging were the ones containing the hashtag #allaccesskors. A post featuring the two models Pyper America and Daisy Clementine, both highly followed stands out among the most engaging content by Michael Kors.

Two other brands that triumphed in the ranking in terms of engagement and followers are Giuseppe Zanotti Design, which reached high number of interactions with the limited collection of sandals in partnership with Swarovski, and Steve Madden, promoting its new summer collection on Instagram with its most engaging hashtag #SM4daze.
The most active accounts on the panel were Hogan and Tod's who published respectively 381 and 354 posts, most of them during the #MilanoFashionWeek from February 24- 29.
The analysis therefore reveals that the same accounts stand out for the two rankings of engagement and followers This result demonstrates that on Instagram in order to increase the follower-base is fundamental to get high engagement levels through the development of successful content strategy.
